Production-ready mechanical design for
metal structures & staircases

I’m Vitalii Borys, a mechanical designer based in Italy. Under the brand 369YAX – Automation & Design I help workshops, fabricators and engineering offices turn ideas into SolidWorks models, drawings, DXF, STEP & BOM that match how metal is actually produced – with a strong focus on spiral & straight stairs, sheet metal components and welded steel structures.

Services

Practical mechanical design focused on how steel is really fabricated: manufacturability, fit with standards and documentation that production teams can rely on.

Spiral & straight stair design

Concept and detailed design of spiral and straight stairs, with comfort and safety checks against relevant regulations (EU / UK, US, AU). Geometry is validated for walkline, headroom and installation in your specific space.

  • Spiral stairs with controlled walkline and verified headroom
  • Straight stairs, landings, railings and guardrails for indoor and outdoor use
  • Deliverables tuned for fabrication: 3D model, drawings, DXF, BOM

Sheet metal & welded structures

Design and optimisation of sheet metal parts, stainless steel elements and welded frames, prepared for TRUMPF laser cutting and bending with realistic tolerances and welding details.

  • Flat patterns (DXF, DWG) with correct bend allowances, radii and grain direction
  • Welded frames, platforms, brackets and supports with practical joints
  • Welding symbols, notes and cut lists aligned with workshop practice

SolidWorks automation & macros

Custom SolidWorks tools under the 369YAX ecosystem to reduce repetitive work, standardise models and drawings and keep your documentation consistent over time.

  • Automatic part and drawing creation from branded templates
  • BOM and cut-list export to Excel using your naming and layout
  • Project libraries and property automation aligned with your standards

Selected projects

A brief look at projects where SolidWorks models, regulatory checks and workshop logic work together. More detailed case studies can be shared on request.

Indoor spiral staircase – compliant configuration

Parametric spiral staircase configured around local regulations with checked walkline, headroom and riser/tread combination. The package included the full 3D model, fabrication drawings, DXF files for laser cutting and a structured BOM for purchasing and assembly.

Spiral stairs

Stainless steel A4 shelf

Minimalistic stainless steel shelf for laser cutting and bending. The design was refined for simple production: clear drawings, flat patterns and all fixing details defined for fast installation on site.

Sheet metal

Industrial support frame

Welded steel frame with correctly sized profiles, connection details and workshop-ready drawings – including cut lists, welding notes and assembly views that guided both fabrication and on-site mounting.

Welded structure

Custom automation tools – 369YAX macros

Internal macro pack for SolidWorks covering automatic creation of models and drawings, population of project properties, BOM export and standard note libraries – used every day to shorten design time and reduce repetitive manual steps.

Automation

369YAX – SolidWorks automation

A focused ecosystem of custom tools developed from real daily work in SolidWorks: parts, assemblies, drawings, BOM, notes and basic project management routines.

IntelliPack / project tools

Utilities for organising project folders, standardising file naming and automating common actions around drawings, exports and documentation updates.

  • Automatic creation of project folders and starter files
  • Batch update of model and drawing properties across a project
  • Smart export of BOM and cut lists with consistent formatting

IntelliStandards & note libraries

Macro-driven libraries of technical notes, welding symbols and standard texts aligned with ISO/UNI/EN practices, ready to be dropped into your drawings.

  • Bilingual notes (IT / EN, with extra languages when required)
  • Standardised welding, tolerance and general fabrication notes
  • Fast insertion into SolidWorks drawings with consistent layout

Stair generators

Dedicated tools to assist with spiral and straight stair configuration, checking comfort parameters and key dimensions against selected rule sets.

  • Parametric spiral stair configurations with walkline control
  • Support for EU / US / AU rules in the conceptual phase
  • Export-ready geometry for further detailing and documentation

About 369YAX & Vitalii

Mechanical design shaped by real time spent in the workshop – not just clean CAD screenshots.

I’m Vitalii Borys, a mechanical designer and SolidWorks power-user based in Italy, working under the brand 369YAX – Automation & Design. A solid background in metal fabrication before moving fully into design means that every model and drawing is prepared with production, welding and installation in mind.

Experience – Metalinox · Gortani · OFFMA
  • Metalinox (Italy) – sheet metal and welded steel structures. Hands-on workshop work (MIG/MAG welding, laser cutting, bending, rolling) combined with preparation of production drawings for real fabrication.
  • Gortani (Italy) – mechanical design support for process equipment and structural steelwork, with a focus on weldable details and documentation that workshop teams can follow without guesswork.
  • OFFMA (Italy) – stairs, platforms, railings and steel frames, plus internal SolidWorks automation (macros, templates, note libraries) to speed up daily work and keep documentation consistent.
  • Practical metalworking background: bending, rolling, MIG/MAG welding, TRUMPF laser
  • SolidWorks used daily for 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings
  • Experience with Italian sheet metal, stair and industrial frame projects
  • TRUMPF BOOST & TruBend workflows for laser cutting and bending
  • Focus on solutions that are simple to build, install and maintain
